baby really hurt me,
crying in the taxi. he don't
wanna know me, says he
made the big mistake of
dancing in my storm. says it
was p o i s o n. so i guess i'll
go home, into the arms of the
girl that i love, the only love
i haven't SCREWED up.

of course. you’re really doing me a favor by taking them and giving them a loving home. there was a slight weight of guilt in the pit of her stomach, as heavy as a small rock, but she brushed it away for something to deal with in the confines of her own home. while he had agreed to take the flora, and even looked happy to take them, she was worried a little that maybe she had overstepped as an employee. as a person, she couldn’t be more elated to see the flowers go to someone who treated them just as gentle as herself. well, she assumes that he treats them well. the times she’s seen the other come in she hasn’t had to kick him out for destroying the petals or ripping plants out of their pots. on top of it all, he seemed to just… genuinely enjoy the flora scattered around the shop, and if his earlier comment didn’t help prove that then she wouldn’t know what would.  the flowers are pretty, but on an island with different and more exotic plants, most people tend to pass the shop. which isn’t bad, people have preferences, you know? that’s why it’s nice to see you come through and still look around. and while hyerin wasn’t much of a people person, she knew that without said people the shop wouldn’t do as well as it did.  well, it’s not only that they find it hard to pick them for a special occasion it’s just… she trailed off, trying to think of the proper way to say this without sounding bitter or upset. because she wasn’t. the world didn’t hold onto the value of simple things anymore. it was all about money and how much something was worth to give it value. flowers were just… too simple for things like that. it was like the value of things only mattered when the price tag was beyond that of even their own wallets and it was saddening. “ people prefer golden necklaces and rings with diamonds the size of russia for them to mean something. her eyes trailed down to the bouquet and softened considerably.  but no one ever takes the time to really understand the meaning of value or the thought that comes behind a gift anymore. whatever little bubble she’d slipped into, guard down a little, she snapped out of it just as quick.  ah, but what do i know, right? i’m just a simple florist. another quick, small smile decorated her lips with his compliment, almost embarrassed from the high ( at least, what she considered high ) praise that fell from his lips.  ah– you’re really too kind. i just put it together and wrap a little ribon around it, but not much else. the flowers really do all the work.she paused, taking his sentence apart for a moment. “ would you… want a bouqquet made for you? i don’t think i’ve ever seen you pick a specific flower before or stick to one… But, if you’d like one, we could make you an arrangement?

“you’re quite tall… i doubt a snack would do much on you,” she mumbled honestly, one thing she knew was that by being tall was that even when she put on weight it wasn’t as obvious as if she had been shorter. his comment enough to assure her that she should get him something besides the coffee. “can i ask for a favor though? could you order for us?” now her nervousness was obvious as they rushed to the coffee shop, not really fancying the idea of being the one to speak to someone who would most likely react negatively about her presence on the shop. “i really don’t do well at ordering anything,” she bit her bottom lip as she stood closer to the male, “i’ll owe you one.” her own reactions happening involuntarily, she was now walking behind him and her eyes were fixated on the floor, the sight of the full cafe was enough to get her anxious about their reaction the moment she walked in.

even if the comment hadn’t really been meant as a compliment, jae took it as one anyways. anything that wasn’t said negatively could always be counted as one if you tried hard enough. or just didn’t care, which he didn’t for the most part. “ you want me to order our drinks now? man, who knew something so simple ended up with me doing all the grunt work. again, not that jae cared. as long as he wasn’t paying for any of it. but his musings came to a stop when she said that if he did, she would owe him. “ oh? his eyes lit up as a flurry of ideas started to stream through his mind on what he could possibly ask her for now. “ you should really be careful with your words, you know. because that’s a promise now. you can’t say no to anything i ask, then. deal? not that jae would actively ask the woman next to him to do anything illegal. he had some decency in him, as little as it was. “ and don’t worry, i’m not going to make you steal a pocket a watch or anything. mostly because i don’t think you could do it without freezing in the middle of the floor. his words were meant more of a joke, despite the fact he truly did believe that that would happen with the other.

the feeling of being watched was something hyerin was all to intimate with. it was easy enough to know the stare of someone who was waiting for an opening, a moment to see a small weakening point just to dive in and attack in. was the other female doing that? the burning heat of her gaze making her ten times more aware that she felt her fingers twitch, if only the slightest– the need to hold something to be grounded slowly blooming at them. “ would it be such a bad thing to have a little faith in the human race at this point,” she asked, truly curious about the answer. half the people she’d come to meet were so bitter about the island, so ready to curse it to hell and back, to hope for it to sink into the very ocean that surrounded it. hyerin knows that whatever their reasons were for wanting it were just as valid as the one where she didn’t mind the island. it wasn’t the best. it probably would never be, but it would always be better than the memory of empty hallways. a lonely breakfast table. the demands to be perfect, perfect, p e r f e c t– hyerin closed her eyes breifly, reigning in the swell of emotion that seemed to creep up on her unexpectedly. too much. it was too much to show at once and this wasn’t the time, nor the place to lose that self control she’d worked so hard to keep.  thank you, for the towels that you’re going to lend me. I can wash them at my place and return what i used, if you’d like. as for your pup…her eyes trailed to the shivering mass of fur and felt her lips curve at the corner. “ i think he’d be happier about being in warmer water than the ocean. the water wasn’t the warmest when i picked him up.” but she listened as the other explained how to rid the smell and nodded. “ i usually hang my clothes out to dry, so hopefully it’ll help with the smell, thank you. i usually don’t try to swim out in my day clothes, she tried to joke, the words coming out awkward even from her own mouth. but it didn’t seem to stick for long as the other started to speak of the ocean in a way that… could be described as almost poetic. almost like it was a love– maybe it was. everyone had their own thing. maybe for her, it was the ocean. just as her own garden was for her.  it sounds like i haven’t been looking at it properly enough then. it’s calming out here, but there’s still a fear of being swept up, i suppose. the unknown has always been scary to humans. we’re still human, just with a little special something. if i could see it through your eyes though, maybe the fear of it wouldn’t be as prominent.

𝐙𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐇𝐄    might pull his hair out as he watched jae shake his bouquet without care, gaze catching onto every petal that fell to the ground. and, though the male had been raised on the ideas of love, not war— to love thy neighbor. never had anyone said anything about loving an aggravating roommate. hearing the other speak, keeping his inner peace was getting harder and harder by the second.    ❝  what does it look like ?? it looks like you’re a mad man, my dude !!  ❞  brows knitted together, answering a question that may have been rhetorical.  because it was quite obvious what jae had in mind. ziggy’s flowers looking as if they were about to meet their fate. a tragic end . a demise that consisted of a tale written about how they’d be sent out the window where gravity would do her work, plummeting them to the ground.    bruh, you’re straight hatin’ cause those peonies smell rad as fuck !!  ❞   he protested against jae’s claims, unable to believe here the other was. calling hyerin’s work of art a MONSTROSITY.    they totally, like,  spark up the place. look at those colors , broski !!   they were carefully put together and everything.. and … i got no idea what you’re on about, them not looking bomb.  but yes. they’re mine.  so , you better stop playing around jae. cause i swear on my surfboard, if you throw them out the window—-  ❞

if i throw them out the window, what? you going to bite me? you going to toss me out the same window? i’d like to see you try, shark boy, jae countered, uncaring if he cut into the other’s words or not. he wasn’t even that upset, in all honesty. but seeing his normally level headed ( air head ? ) of a roommate finally showing some semblance of emotion that wasn’t concern or straight up joy was refreshing. and over some small bouquet of flowers that. it made him only the slightest bit curious as to why these damn things were so special. they smell terrible. for one, none of these flowers should ever be put together again for the sheer smell alone. i feel like i’m going to vomit every time i get a whiff of it. and the wrapping? what is this? a valentine’s gift? you planning on giving these to a girl or what? because let me tell you, she’s going to smash these in your face and then throw up on your shoes. maybe jae was taking this a little too far, but he wanted to see just how worked up he could get the other, if only for his own entertainment. he lifted the bouquet once more and moved back to the window.  i’m doing you a favor. just buy a necklace, trust me. now i’m throwing this out and you’re next if you take another step, got it?

Sure Jae may know how his body reacts when getting a tattoo done, but that’s because Taesoo is the one who is doing the tattoo and is the professional between the two of them. He has more knowledge than Jae when it comes to doing tattoos and things that people may not be aware of. “There’s a few more like making sure you have everything properly sterilized, knowing the tattoo ink you have isn’t going to give you an allergic reaction later, making sure you’re not puncturing your skin too deeply because you’ll end up in pain and risk getting an infection while if the depth is shallow you’ll cause the tattoo ink to bleed out, and avoiding cross contamination between the needle and your blood.” At Jae’s suggestion of him watching over him, Taesoo doesn’t feel too confident he should let the younger give himself a tattoo. Even if he was watching, he didn’t trust the equipment mostly that came with stick-n-pokes. “I still don’t think you should give it a try. Doing a tattoo isn’t so simple you know. It’s not just being able to draw something on yourself. You have to keep in mind of a lot of things too like which areas have more fat or less compared to others and which skin areas are thinner than others on your body to determine if it’ll be painful or not for you. As well as knowing how not to harm your body in the process.”

image

with every bad thing that taesoo kept listing off, it made jae more and more likely to want the stick-n-poke. not because he was scared, but now because it just seemed like too much work to actually handle the thing. how was he supposed to know how deep was too deep but also not shallow? and if he did harm himself in the process was it going to be something he had to be actually worried about? because he really didn’t feel like going to the emergency room over something as small as some… inked infection. as far as it came to most things jae did, he really didn’t want to take the time out of his day if he did mess up.  so you’re telling me that i should just stick to spending a couple hundred for each tattoo basically, he said, not really upset, but more dismissive. that had been a whole waste of time all to be told ‘no’ in the end.  i mean, don’t get me wrong. i don’t think the work you do is cheap or anything, he added in quickly, not wanting to piss the other off or lose the somewhat decent bond they had. but it really dents into the pocket, y’know? i’m just a lowly cafe worker. this stick-n-poke was supposed to be the saving grace and all too. now you’re telling me i could basically die from it…. isn’t that illegal to sell then?

i hate spectrum so much this is the seventh time my Internet has gone out for absolutely no reason and they can’t fix it until tomorrow I’m gonna F I G H T !!! anyways i am super super sorry about this but tomorrow FOR SURE I will be getting on

Ill be on in a few hours I promise !! ive just been super busy and not feeling all too well on top of it so I’ve been sleeping a lot !! but expect some replies !!
